UTAH ACADEMIC DECATHLON
CODE OF BEHAVIOR
The following standards apply to all students, coachers, advisors, and chaperones who participate in the Decathlon. By signing the Competition Conduct Form you agree to abide by this code of behavior.
Dress Standards
1. Speech and Interview: Professional dress.
2. All testing: Decathlon sweatshirt or other sports shirt, nice pants or jeans.
3. Social events/evening out: Casual dress.
4. Awards Brunch: Professional dress.
Personal Conduct
1. I will use appropriate language, courtesy, and respect for other students, coaches and staff at all activities.
2. Demonstrate respect for facilities.
3. Attend all planned events
Coach/Chaperone Responsibilities
1. Provide the necessary supervision of your students throughout your stay.
2. Damage done to facilities will require full restitution by the individual/school responsible.
3. Dress appropriately for the various events as above. We do not want to restrict anyone's attendance, but we do wish to have a professional and successful event without unnecessary distractions.
4. Make sure your students understand what is expected of them during the state meet. If you or they have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the state director for clarification.
